Win 95 Tips and Tricks: IE 4 users, you probably notice the IE4, Outlook Express, Show Desktop, and View Channel icons on your toolbar. You can easily add icons by dragging them to the toolbar, it's a convenient place to put links to your favorite programs. Want to know where those icons are hidden? Go to C:\Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Lanch and there they are. Special thanks to Cable Guy for figuring that one out. |
Win 95 Bug Patches: These files are designed to fix bugs found in Win 95 that can be used to crash your system. They are a very large threat to IRC users, but are NOT restricted to IRC. Before downloading these patchs please update your systems winsock and DUN (updates can be found above). You don't have to but it helps: The Port 139/OOB bug sends Out of Band data to your system which results in a fatal error causing you to reboot. Programs such as Winuke allow malicious people to use this bug and send OOB data to your IP. The SSPing, Teardrop, Jolt, and Land bugs can be used by Linux users to freeze your system by sending fragmented packets of information on a endless loop. This also forces Win 95 users to reboot.
